"""In which Miss Croft's Diogenes Club benefactors give her make-work of a surprisingly dangerous nature"""

The session opened with brief vignettes of persons in old timey clothing riding in black carriages with no visible maker's mark apparently spying on Dr. Dallinger and Miss Greene. Meanwhile, Mr. Turnbull's friend Bruce Gordon asked Aleister for help debunking a religious speaker who claims to have healing powers and who has lured away Gordon's family. Miss Forsythe has been invited to her suitor's (George St. John Smythe IIRC?) country estate in Cambridgeshire. And Miss Croft is at the Diogenes Club, where they have foisted upon her what she considers make-work: investigating some sheep mutilations in Norwich.

We spent a great deal of time discussing how Ada Grace's visit would go in real life and meanwhile established that she has begun the process of moving into Croft's home as a companion, a sort of social coup for an untitled (but rich) American. We also established that Miss Green's former identity, Lady Brockhurst (vicountess? I can't even remember. help me out Danielle!!!) has a house in the Lake Country, which is kinda far from London, frankly.

Moving on... the group took a train to Cambridgeshire, planning to stop on the way to Norwich and then on the way back. While the train was stopped somewhere in route, they noticed the same black carriage and riders. Mr. Turnbull and Dr. Dallinger made some attempts to gather more information, but nothing significant was forthcoming except that one of the carriage occupants apparently had not gotten back in the carriage.

The group arrived in Cambridgeshire and a day long party ensued. Dallinger met the sheep farmer and got some of the lowdown: nu mutilations this far south, but a slightly unseasonal manifestation of the Aurora Borealis has been in the sky of late. Dallinger made friends with the sheep guy and the sheep by helping an ewe give birth to whatever a baby sheep is called.

Meanwhile, Miss Forsythe Impressed the Family of George, while his brother Winston acted like a right arse.

Mr. Turnbull wandered about, talking to the help, and came to the conclusion that bad faeries are to blame for the sheep deaths and the aurora. They feed on creativity and cause harm.

At the end of the session, Dr. Dallinger was away from the group, watching the aurora with his telescopic device. He saw the moon, low in the sky and thus occluded by the aurora, and saw what appeared to be objects emerging from it...
